LLM-Based Multimodal Planning for TAVR: Independent Validation, Calibration, and Efficiency Gains

TAVR, multimodal LLMAnnouncing a new article publication for Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications journal. A new study demonstrates that a multimodal large language model (LLM) can accurately support preoperative planning for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). By integrating CT imaging and clinical data, the system automatically generates structured surgical plans, including valve selection, access strategy, and risk alerts. Tested across 950 patients, the model showed high agreement with expert heart teams while reducing planning time by over 90%. The findings highlight the potential of LLM-driven tools to improve efficiency and decision-making in complex cardiac procedures. (more…)

Expanded Use of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients with Low Surgical Risk

Announcing a new article publication for Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications journal. This commentary reviews the role of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in patients with severe aortic stenosis who are at low surgical risk. Recent clinical trials show that TAVR provides outcomes comparable to surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) over mid-term follow-up, while offering potential benefits such as faster recovery. The authors emphasize that treatment decisions should consider patient age, anatomy, comorbidities, and long-term planning for future valve interventions.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients ≥80 and <80 Years of Age with Aortic Valve Stenosis at Moderate Surgical Risk: Findings from an Observational Study in the Vietnamese Population

Transcatheter Aortic Valve ReplacementAnnouncing a new article publication for Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications journal. The increasing number of elderly patients with severe aortic valve stenosis undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has prompted concerns regarding their clinical outcomes compared with the younger population. This study evaluated the outcomes of TAVR on the basis (more…)
