Hemodynamic Evaluation of an Enhanced External Counterpulsation Strategy for Coronary Heart Disease with a Geometric Multiscale Model

This research letter highlights a novel approach to optimizing enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) for patients with coronary heart disease. Using a geometric multiscale model that combines patient-specific three-dimensional coronary artery simulations with systemic circulatory modeling, the study identified wall shear stress (WSS) as a key hemodynamic marker of EECP effectiveness.
